Civil Concreting in Darwin
The Concrete Underneath Darwin's Infrastructure
Civil concreting sits at the intersection of construction and infrastructure — the footpaths, kerbs, drainage channels, culverts and road works that hold a city together. It's not glamorous work, but it's work that has to be right. A failed kerb or a poorly laid footpath becomes a liability the moment it's handed over.
T & M Concretors has been delivering civil concreting across Darwin for more than 45 years. We work with councils, civil contractors and construction companies on projects ranging from subdivision footpath programmes to drainage infrastructure and road works. Our crew understands the documentation, inspection hold points and programme pressures that come with civil contracts.
Darwin's wet season creates particular challenges for civil concrete work; scheduling pours around seasonal conditions is something our team has been managing for decades. Call us on (08) 8941 8819 to discuss your civil scope.

Civil Concrete Scopes We Cover
Footpaths & Shared Paths
Concrete footpaths and shared pedestrian and cycle paths for residential subdivisions, commercial precincts and public infrastructure projects across Darwin. We work to council and project specifications on surface finish, crossfall and edge treatment.
Kerb & Gutter
Kerb and gutter construction for roads, carparks and civil drainage systems. Extruded and formed kerb both within scope. We coordinate with civil earthworks and drainage contractors on sequencing to keep the programme moving.
Drainage & Culverts
Concrete drainage channels, pits, culverts and stormwater infrastructure. Darwin's wet season places significant demand on drainage systems; getting the concrete placement and joint detailing right is critical to long-term performance.
Road Works & Hardstanding
Concrete road pavements and hardstanding for civil and infrastructure projects across the Darwin area. Our industrial slabs and hardstands capability means we're set up for heavy-duty pavement scopes that go beyond standard civil works.
Set Up for Civil Contracts
Civil contracts come with documentation requirements that not every concreting contractor is set up to meet. Inspection and test plans, hold points, non-conformance reporting and as-built records all need to be managed alongside the physical work.
T & M Concretors holds ICN Gateway membership, CAL Accredited status and MBA NT membership. Our safety management system, insurances and quality documentation are current and available for prequalification submissions. We've worked within the compliance frameworks of major civil programmes in Darwin and understand what principal contractors need from their subcontractors.
Our commercial concreting capability also means we can carry both the civil and building concrete scopes on mixed-use developments. To talk it through, call us on (08) 8941 8819.

Common Questions About Civil Concreting
For civil concreting work in the Northern Territory, contractors are typically expected to hold a number of qualifications, licences and accreditations. These include current public liability and workers compensation insurance, a documented safety management system and evidence of relevant industry memberships such as ICN Gateway or the Master Builders Association NT. CAL Accredited status is commonly required on government and council contracts. Some principal contractors also require evidence of prior civil project experience and the capacity to meet inspection and test plan requirements before a subcontractor is engaged on a civil programme.
